Well, we are well into another week, and I think I'm doing ok on my goals. With the cyclists here last night, Warren was at church until almost midnight, and then left again around 6:00 am. He enjoys talking with people, and if anyone asks him any theological question, he loves to talk about it!! Then in the morning, he went to prepare breakfast for the young people. We didn't see much of him, but I was ok with it! I wasn't upset or cranky that he was gone. I understood. These young people are doing a lot right now, and just having time to talk with someone meant a lot to them. Oh, and how they loved his meals!!! (Go to Allison's blog and you can read all about it...you'd think they never eat!) But I think I was supportive and loving. He also took part of today off to catch up on some sleep, and to spend time with the kiddos and I. He watched the kids so I could go to the adult lap swim at the pool...I was able to swim an entire mile!!! He usually goes, but he encouraged me to take a turn today, thanks honey!!!
I am praying for him, and trying to greet him at the door. I also have a ton of fruit for snacks. We spent time together this afternoon while the children were resting, and it was nice to be with him...I almost forget what it's like to be with just him! There are so many things that we give our attention to during normal day, it was nice to be with him. I REALLY LOVE YOU!!! (just in case Warren reads this! :o))
Well, that's an update for now. I took some pics of the kiddos playing ball. Andrew finished his last T-ball game today, and Abbigail has 2 more games. I'll try to post the pics tomorrow.
For now...I'm off to dreamland...ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz............Nighty night.

Marriage Monday

This week, Christine, at Fruit in Season, wants us to focus on supporting and encouraging our husband in their line of work. This should be easy for me...my hubby is a pastor. What more honorable vocation exists? But do I honor him and encourage him? Not all the time. He is a great pastor, with great goals for our congregation. But sometimes I make him feel guilty for spending so much time working. I feel abandoned when he has meetings and can't be with me to help with the kids, or go to a game. Instead of being upset, I should be proud. He's working for God! He's teaching people about the Grace and the gift that God gave us. He's an instrument of the Holy Spirit...it's not like he's sitting around watching TV or ignoring our family. I love him so much, and I am so proud of him and the job he does. He is a wonderful pastor, the people really like him, too. I need to make an effort to listen to the sermons more...I joke that I haven't heard a sermon for 7 years (since our first was born)...but that is almost true. I try to keep the kiddos quiet so they don't disturb others around us, but I don't pay much attention because I'm so involved with them. I need to ask hubby for a written copy of the sermon, so I can follow along, or read it after church if I am unable to REALLY listen.
So... I will continue to work on my goals for the last week, but I will also add a few new goals.
1. I will encourage him in his vocation...and be so grateful that he can come home during the day, even if he's unable to be home in the evening.
2. I will try make our home a warm, relaxing environment to come home to. In order to do this, I need to clean up! It doesn't feel very relaxing right now, it is too cluttered! I need to get off the blogs and get to the house.
Well...here goes another week! Blessings to all of you and your marriages.

I joined a blog challenge this week at Fruit in Season The idea is to make honoring your husband a priority in your life. With the kids and all their activities, and my responsibilities in the home and church, hubby isn't always put in his proper place on my list of priorities. So, this month I am going to make it a point to put him first.
"Choose a few small goals for yourself each week and make sure to post them. Write them on post-its and put them on your mirror, in your car and your purse, or anywhere else you'll see them. Keep a journal for the month about successes and struggles. What is hardest for you to do? What comes easily? How is your husband responding to your efforts?"
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
So...here are my goals for this week.
1. Greet him as he comes home. Stop what I'm doing and greet him with a hug/kiss and make him glad he is home.
2. Tell him how much I appreciate how much he does for our family. He really is a wonderful provider and protector and I just don't tell him enough how much I appreciate him.
3. Help him with his goals of being healthy by prepare healthy meals/snacks for our family. We all need to eat healthier, and I can encourage that by what I prepare!
So...here are my goals. I'll keep you posted!
I LOVE YOU WARREN!!!!
